Bruce's Managers Trip to San Antonio

This past week we traveled to San Antonio for Bruce's first managers trip. Stacy was very excited because on this trip the spouses of all of the managers are invited to attend. We both met so many people from Ben E. Keith and had a wonderful time. We arrived early on the first day and went on a walk to find the spot where Bruce proposed to Stacy on the riverwalk. We were able to find it and realized what an amazing spot it was! The courtyard was beautiful and there was even a Catholic church on the other side of the street! On the first night we attended a welcoming dinner and we secretly celebrated our 3 year anniversary as well. On the second day Bruce was stuck in a meeting and Stacy walked to the market with the other spouses and enjoyed some Mexican food and shopping. The third day Bruce and company went golfing and Stacy attended a spouses event, "The Margarita Mix Off", and even though she couldn't drink the margarita she learned how to make one from scratch! We also had our farewell dinner on the last night where Bruce tried his first taste of venison (and liked it!) and Stacy ate a lot from the bread basket since the smell and taste of venison was not settling well. We guess Cameron will not be a venison fan! It was a fun week and are already looking forward to next years trip. Anyone up for babysitting a 11 month old? (;

Night out after welcoming dinner. We went to a restaurant called "The Republic of Texas". Bruce and others indulged in margaritas and a tequila shot. Stacy really enjoyed the Karaoke and people watching. Nothing like watching people who are drunk and tone deaf!

Count Down with Weekly Doctor Appointments!

Today marks the first of my weekly doctors appointments at 36 weeks! I thought I would give a little update after each one to let everyone know how I am feeling and how eager Cameron is to grace us with her presence! I have found life in general just a little more uncomfortable. Just to give a few examples: walking, sleeping, dressing (slip on shoes are now my favorite), walking Toby, and even riding in the car! I just keep telling myself that all of these things are leading to something and someone extremely wonderful and it makes it all totally worth it! As for Miss Cameron being eager to get here..we will see.. but she has begun dropping into position and I am now dilated 1cm and 50% effaced. (For everyone who doesn't know what that means--For Cameron to be delivered I need to be 10cm dilated and 100% effaced) So, YAY for beginning the dilation process, but we still have a few weeks to go!

Have a great week everyone! My next appointment is next Tuesday, February 1st. I will update after! (:

Our Last Ultra Sound Pictures

Today we were so excited to go to our last ultra sound appointment for Miss Cameron Paige! She was taking a nap at first and we were able to see that she was definitely a girl (phew, all of Stacy's baby boy dreams can be put to rest and we don't have to redecorate!), her heart rate is at a healthy and steady 140, and that she has great muscle development and bone structure. We also discovered that Stacy's belly is "all baby" as the ultra sound tech would say. She showed us that Cameron's spine reaches from Stacy's low abdomen to right under her breast bone and that Cameron is already head down and still predicted to be a good 8 pounds. We also were told and showed that she is a little over achiever and begining to use her diaphram muscles to get ready for her first breath! Then Miss Cameron woke up and was not being very cooperative for her "close up". She kept putting her hands infront of her face and turning so we could not get a great profile shot. So, I guess we will have to wait for the BIG DAY to see what our sweet little girl looks like! Here are two pictures that came out pretty well!

This picture is of Cameron looking directly at you. You can see her eye, nose, mouth, chin, cheeks, ear, and her hand is curled up under her chin.

This picture is of Cameron's profile. It's not that great because she was putting her hand in her face and then moving all around, but we thought we would share anyways!

Do you still call it a bump?

I have been asked for updated "bump" pictures. I'm not really sure if you can still call it a "bump" (It feels more like a hill or mountain!), but lets just face it -- It's a really big belly! Cameron is doing great and we have our last sonogram next week on Jaunuary 20th. As of last week the doctor said that she predicts we will have a "8 pounder" on our hands. I recently found out that I was 6 pounds (and I was two weeks early) and Bruce was 8 1/2. So, I think her prediction might be right! We will let you know what she says next week with updated pictures of our girl!

Christmas in Virginia

This year we spent Christmas with Bruce's family in their new house in Williamsburg. Their new house is absolutely beautiful and was the perfect spot to entertain all of our families. Stacy's mom and brother, Uncle Patrick, were able to come from Front Royal and Strasburg, Bruce's grandparents came from Atlanta, Bruce's Aunt Susan and Uncle Tim and cousins drove from Richmond, and Aunt Carolyn's family joined us from Pennsylvania and Yorktown for the holidays as well! It was amazing to have everyone in one place to celebrate such a wonderful holiday. Even though we were snowed in and didn't make it to Christmas Town -- it was a beautiful Christmas filled with family, love, and a lot of SNOW!
